Royal Scrivener Competition at 12th Night

Postby Tegan » Wed Oct 14, 2009 5:40 pm

Greetings all!
I just wanted to remind everyone that the competition for Royal Scrivener will be held at Atlantian 12th Night. Please bring samples of your calligraphy for display. I would recommend showing one early period hand and one late period hand. Additional samples are welcome as well. If you have questions about the competition or about the position please feel free to contact me.
I was not what I considered to be a great calligrapher when I entered the competition myself. I know how critical we artists can be of our own works and I am no exception. Please don't let it stop you from entering this competition. I have learned so much and had so much fun as Royal Scrivener. You will get plenty of opportunity to practice as well as the opportunity to share your art with the scroll recipients. You also get to encourage new scribes. It is probably one of the most rewarding of the Royal appointment positions in that regard. Again, contact me if you have questions.

Can you explain what the duties and responsibilities are for this position? What is to be expected of one in this position.

Thanks!
