Winter University, Feb 2010 Session #77

Postby Baroness Rhonwen » Wed Nov 04, 2009 9:37 am

It has been posted that the Shire of Isenfir will be hosting the next univeristy session. Call for classes has not gone out yet, but you all should start thinking about what you would like to see taught or teach yourselves.

Below is the message from the University chancellor about Winter University. PLease, if you can make it let's put together a really good track. I have been having requests for more intermediate and advance classes as well as intro style ones. If you have knowledge to share please take a few minutes to consider teaching. I personally pledge to teach one intermediate class at this univeristy (well, at least submit one and hope it gets accepted) in addition to the other 2 classes I am submitting. Who will join me?

Yours,
Rhonwen

Greetings good gentles,

The Shire of Isenfir has offered to be our hosts for the 77th Session of the University of Atlantia, to be held in Mineral, VA on February 6th. The Isenfiri have my great appreciation for their interest and willingness to serve.

In order to meet the needs of the students of Atlantia, we must provide a full session of fascinating and instructive classes for the day of learning. If you are interested in teaching a class, organizing a track of classes or have an idea for a class but don't know who to turn to, please send a note to me at university@atlantia.sca.org or use the other contact information for the University Chancellor in your Acorn. I ask that you please send me your class proposal information by Monday December 21st.
Note: We regret that the site will not allow for any brewing classes at all, even those that don't require finished alcoholic beverages on-site. We apologize for this inconvenience.

Please include the following information:
- Instructor name (SCA and modern)
- Class title
- Fees (if any)
- Max number of students (the default maximum is 30)
- Duration of class (1 hour, 2 hours, or more)
- Class description
- Any special equipment requests or space requirements for the class.
This includes equipment the instructor would need from the site. E.g.:
overhead projector, slide projector, etc. Equipment is not necessarily available, but it can't hurt to ask.

In service,
Mistress Genevieve d'Aquitaine
Chancellor, University of Atlantia

I have not recieved a laundry list per say, just the suggestions of "it would be nice to have advanced techniques" taught. To me that would be things like cadels and flourishes for calligraphy, or the various types and periods of illumination and how they were done.

So speak up...what do you all want to have taught????
